Inclusive Workplaces Breakfast – Talkin’ Tough (Legless & Blind)
Description
What does resilience really look like in the real world?
Meet Ben Pettingill & Mike Rolls — known as “Legless & Blind.”
At 16, Ben lost 98% of his eyesight due to a rare genetic condition.
At 18, Mike survived a life-threatening illness that resulted in multiple amputations — and now represents Australia in all-abilities golf.
Together, they deliver powerful, engaging sessions that combine humour, honesty and lived experience — connecting with audiences in a way that is both relatable and unforgettable.
Now consider this:
If something life-changing happened to someone in your team tomorrow…
Would your workplace know how to respond?
Would your culture support them — or isolate them?
Are you actively creating an inclusive environment, or assuming it already exists?
As part of Mallee Community Wellbeing Week, Northern Mallee Leaders invites you to an Inclusive Workplaces Breakfast designed to challenge thinking and strengthen leadership.
This session is for:
Business owners and leaders
Managers and team leaders
Organisations committed to better workplace culture
You’ll walk away with:
A new perspective on resilience and inclusion
Practical tools to support mental health in your workplace
Greater awareness of how to recognise when someone is struggling
Confidence to lead meaningful conversations that matter
This isn’t just another workplace wellbeing session.
It’s an opportunity to reflect on the role your business plays in the lives of your people — and what it truly means to create a workplace where everyone can belong, contribute and be supported.
