International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations observed day celebrated internationally on 3 December each year. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

This year’s IDPwD theme is ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world’. To celebrate and honour this theme we are hosting a Remarkable Insights conversation with a focus on Inclusivity in the post-COVID Age.

We are thrilled to be welcoming Hannah Diviney, Co-Editor In Chief & Head of Creative at Missing Perspectives, as guest moderator for this event, as well as an amazing lineup of panelists!

Steve Ralph has a background in marketing and sales and currently works for Elanco Animal Health in this capacity. Steve is also a passionate disability advocate, through living with experience via a spinal-cord injury. He is also part of the Maslow team. Maslow aims to improve the health and well-being of people living with paralysis by enabling them to better manage their care and rehab at home. @steveralph92

Varun Chandak is the Founder of Access to Success Organization, a not-for-profit that supports the development of future leaders with disabilities and assistive tech. He recently launched ATS Labs, Canada's first accelerator for accessibility, mental health and aging tech startups. Varun holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant. He lives in Toronto with his wife and hyperactive goldendoodle, Dash. @VarunChandak_

Julie Duong is a firm believer in a society that empowers people with disability to thrive in life however they want to through equitable opportunities. As a wheelchair user, she has a deep passion for supporting individuals experience an inclusive society by helping and educating the wider community and organisations in getting there. This is why she is Director of Empowering Solutions and co-currently a Policy and Program Development Officer at the City of Sydney. Prior to this, her work history includes various projects within diversity and inclusion at the University of New South Wales and the Reserve Bank of Australia. Julie also has extensive experience in building individual capacity through creating and supporting peer led support communities for people with disability, focusing on the culturally diverse community. This includes providing training, mentorship and organisational and project management. Julie has a Bachelor of Psychology from WSU and a Master of Commerce (Human Resource Management) from UNSW, and sits on the Equity and Inclusion Reference Group to the NDIA.

Hannah Diviney, is a 22-year-old leading disability advocate and writer based in Sydney, Australia. Her greatest achievements as a disability advocate include her role as creator of the wildly successful Change.org petition that calls on Disney Studios to create a disabled Disney Princess, and in her role as cofounder of the charity event Krazy Kosci Klimb, which sees young people with disabilities and their families conquer Mt Kosciuszko. She is also the Editor in Chief of global publication platform, Missing Perspectives - a platform dedicated to addressing the marginalisation and under-representation of women and girls in news, media, democracy and decision making around the world. She was also a 2022 Young Australian of the Year nominee and a finalist for The Australian Women's Weekly Women of The Future contest @hannah_diviney
