Indi Voice to Parliament Community Forum
Event description
This year you'll have the opportunity to have your say at the Voice referendum. Find out more about the Voice, why it's needed and how it'll help improve lives at this special event.Â
Join your local Member of Parliament Helen Haines with Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney and Yes23 Campaign Director Dean Parkin. Together we will talk about why constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through a Voice to Parliament is a crucial step in the walk towards reconciliation. Attendees will have an opportunity to share their feedback and learn about ways to engage in the local community. This meeting is open to all community members and you can join in person or online.
What: Voice to Parliament Community Forum
When: Tuesday 25th July, 7.30-9pm
Where: Join us in person at the Cube, Wodonga or via our livestream from the comfort of your own home.
This is an opportunity for our community to come together, learn, and engage in a constructive conversation about the Voice referendum and its potential impact. The Voice was a key ask from the Uluru Statement from the Heart which was an invitation to all Australians to recognise the ancestral ties that have existed for over 60,000 years and empower all First Nations people to have a voice in their future. We are wholeheartedly accepting the invitation and would like to invite you to join us to walk together towards this historic reform.
