Indietronic Underground
Event description
Showcasing some of Sydney's freshest indie talent, underground venue Staves hosts five exciting electronic producers this March.
Infusing elements of hyperpop, trip-hop, downtempo, ambient and electronica, each artist brings a unique sound and performance that you won’t want to miss.
SPACE COP 2
Space Cop 2, the Earth born producer based in outer space, brings you music from the future and also from the past, but never from the present because time is an illusion.
SELFDIVISION
With her haunting voice and hypnotic melodies, SelfDivision is a Sydney-based singer, songwriter, and producer. Her music is a throwback to 90s/00s trip-hop and downtempo and delves into themes that interweave the natural world and relationships. An emerging artist to keep your eye on, her sound has drawn comparisons to influential artists like Portishead, Massive Attack, and Bjork. Get ready for her captivating and emotionally charged live show.
MYXI BUN
After contracting the horridly infectious viral disease of Myxomatosis, which is usual fatal, Myxi Bun instead became freakishly cute but also very unwell in the brain cells. Shunned from the bunni community for her strange and twitchy behaviour she harnessed that time alone and taught herself how to make “Mad ass beats to get lit and down to”.
ADAM AHH
Adam Ahh dips his toes in the chaos, goes for the eyes, becomes a pupil. Based in Eora (Sydney), producer, musician and vocalist Adam Ahh’s immersive music draws on electronic, ambient, neo-classical, and black metal to weave lush rhythmic atmospheres that swell with beauty and break with brutality. Grown in a petri dish cultured on Aphex Twin, Sigur Rós and Deafheaven. Come float in bliss or descend into chaos with every beat.
NIKKITA
Hailing from the suburbs of Perth, budding artist Nikkita brings a raw sense of honesty to the electronic pop landscape. Nikkita's music is sombre, yet uplifting; intimate, yet immense; weaving yet always finding its way to a catchy hook. Emerging in early 2022 with singles ‘Looking Up’ and ‘In The Sky’, Nikkita carves a shifting path through the music landscape. It’s decidedly pop, but with elements of future bass, folk and trap. Music you can both walk listlessly to and lose yourself dancing to.
