Join Karen Smith, Education Officer from the Aboriginal Heritage Office, as she explores the site's rich history.

Karen has been the AHO’s Education Officer since 2011 and has shared her knowledge and experience of the local area and Aboriginal history and culture with thousands of local residents, students and schools. She leads guided walks and provides talks and presentations throughout the partner Councils in northern Sydney.

Karen is from the Buruberongal clan of the Hawkesbury (Derrubin) area. Her family has been living in the Manly area for many years.
Karen was awarded Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellowship for her work and commitment to the protection and education of Aboriginal culture and heritage.

Tours leave from outside The Coal Loader, 2 Balls Head Drive. Look for the tour sign.

In the case of wet weather, indoor activities may replace the outdoor tour.

All physical abilities are welcome as the site is fully accessible.

Booking essential – This is a limited-capacity event. Participants must be registered with their own names and contact details.

Cost: $0 to take part however ONLY book if you can make it.

What to bring: BYO keep cup and reusable water bottle etc. Please wear closed-toed shoes.
