Indigo & Shibori Workshop with Jenai Hooke
Description
Indigo & Shibori Workshop with Jenai Hooke
Discover the beautiful art of indigo dyeing and Japanese Shibori with botanical textile artist and SATORI EARTH Faculty member, Jenai Hooke.
In this hands-on creative workshop, Jenai will introduce participants to the traditional techniques of working with natural indigo and Shibori — the Japanese art of folding, binding and manipulating fabric to create beautiful patterns through resist dyeing.
You'll explore the magic of indigo, experiment with different Shibori techniques, and experience the transformation as fabric emerges from the dye vat and develops its distinctive blue.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, as well as those wishing to deepen their experience with natural dyes and textile arts.
