He will talk about how he has transformed his inner city Sydney terrace house into an off grid oasis. Michael will share his story and provide insight into achieving a more sustainable, healthy lifestyle.

After a brief introduction from our President, Lesley Milne, we will have a short AGM.

Come and hear what we’ve been doing in our first 12 months and please consider joining our committee. We are a group of local people aiming to reduce waste, keep organics out of landfill and reduce carbon emissions by building regenerative practices that nurture the health of local communities and the environment in Indigo Shire.

• Designed policy under which anyone may garden in City of Sydney footpath gardens without Council approval – Footpath Gardening Policy

• Designed coolseats - a unique mix of garden bed, seat, compost, and self-watering

• Designed, fabricated, and with a business and local volunteers, installed unique street furniture to compost food waste, provide seating, and soil.  It is made of galvanised steel and is installed beside the Yarra River and at a business at Fishermans Bend, Melbourne. It is flat-packed, assembled and maintained by the community and has no maintenance costs to Melbourne City Council. The Coolseat bench cost is $3,000, within the Worms at Work Council’s project trial budget.
