After a year abroad, singing, writing, and a sizable digression into cheese, Indira Elias is back on Australian stages with a collection of divine songs– new and old. Join Indira and her exquisite band at the Abbotsford Convent to experience their particular brand of eerie future-folk, in Melbourne for the very first time. Part of ‘The Intricate, Infinite, Intimate Tour’– looking at all things up close, and singing to them lullabies, with sweet, tender care– witness the multidisciplinary feat that Indira and her community create, with a visually stunning set brought to life by their heavenly sound.

Indira Elias is an artist, songwriter, composer and producer, with a body of work coloured in cinematic folk-noir. One of the Powerhouse Museum’s 2021 Generation Fellows, Elias has garnered support from Sydney’s Fbi radio, 2SER and Triple j. Her debut album, “Songs from a Moon//Songs by the Sun” was released to much acclaim. The past 12 months has seen Indira tour the UK (London, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow) with Swedish artist Alice Boman and support Dutch pianist and composer Joep Beving at Cafe de la Danse, for his sold out Paris show. Her move overseas facilitated collaborations, including with Portuguese artist Himalion (Diogo Sarabando) on his new album co-produced by Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes). Most recently, Indira released a fully-improvised album ‘Foshira’, in collaboration with polyrhythmic-jazz-house outfit ‘Foshe’. Indira has two EPs in the works, to be released in 2024.

Ella Haber

Since releasing her first single ‘Old Friends’ in February 2019, 25-year-old Sydney artist Ella Haber has made her arrival known. After receiving support for her debut EP, CLAY, from local and international radio (BBC 1XTRA, MiSoul, Jazz FM, Worldwide FM, triple J, FBi radio) Ella went on to sell out her first Sydney show, and complete her first East Coast headline tour, in celebration of the Jordan Rakei-produced record. Following up her tour with supports for the likes of Julien Dyne, Lord Echo, Ngaiire, Surprise Chef, Kamaal Williams & most recently Alfa Mist at the Sydney Opera House, Ella’s reputation as a multi-instrumentalist and powerfully evocative songwriter is weaving its way through her communities, both at home and abroad. Catching the ear of UK tastemakers, she was invited to play Gilles Peterson’s (BBC Radio 6/Brownswood) inaugural ‘We Out Here’ festival in London as the only act representing Sydney and spotlighted by Jamz Supernova (BBC 1XTRA/Future Bounce) for an exclusive London headline showcase, with Soul Has No Tempo label-mate Tiana Khasi. Ella is currently completing work on a new record, with new music due for release in 2023.
