Individual, One-On-One Arts Therapy Sessions

Individual sessions are tailored – we’ll work on whatever is happening for you in your life that you would like to resolve. You have the power to create change.

When you book a session with me, I will email you a questionnaire to complete and return before the session. This allows you to begin the process of working with the issue before our session, and it allows me to prepare for our meeting. All correspondence is strictly confidential.

My sessions are held at my home in my private studio. During winter you can hear the stream bubbling outside, along the front of the property. My studio is a welcoming, calm, peaceful place.

During an individual session you can expect the following:

1. A welcome, orientation, confirmation of session topic, and a quick grounding activity.

2. A meditation, prompted by the session topic.

3. Following from the meditation, there will be an arts therapy activity as a response. This utilizes one or more of the arts – painting, drawing, clay modeling, music, writing, etc. – to allow you to express your response in a non-verbal way. This might provide you with unexpected information.

4. We will conclude by reflecting on your artwork, in the context of your query, and finish with a short meditation.

You are encouraged to write down words and responses as we go. You will be provided with all materials for the session and will be able to take home the artworks you produce. This may allow you to continue to unearth self-wisdom outside the session. I may also set you some ‘homework’ to complete – whether or not you choose to return for further sessions.

Tea, coffee, and gluten-free biscuits are provided.

VERY IMPORTANT

No artistic ‘talent’ required. If you can make a mark somehow, then you are more than able to complete any arts therapy activity.
