Industrial Revolutions - Ronan Apcar (Sydney)
Event description
NOTE:Â Church Street Studios is a BYO-only venue, so bring a drink with you if that's your vibe!
You can't escape the tendrils of the industrial revolutions.Â
Not only do you see its consequences everywhere you look, we're currently living in the Fourth industrial revolution - of autonomous machinery and AI.
In this rather unpianistic solo piano gig (think aeroplane drones, some animated projections, a monologue, even knives!), Ronan Apcar takes a look at the cultural phenomena and products of these industrial revolutions, presenting five solo piano works from contemporary Australian and modern American composers about commuters and factories, war and neoliberalism, complete with an original improvisation. It's all things machines in all its harrowing glory.

Kate NEAL & Sal COOPER Commuter Variations
Lynden BASSETT Why Wait? Tomorrow Has Already Been Cremated In Hell
