Workers' Compensation Workshop

Engaging Doctors & Workers

Safe Work Australia data identifies the ongoing failure of Workers’ Compensation insurers to return injured workers to work. With passive/reactive claims management leading to an increase in the average time lost for serious claims by 24% between 2008/2009 and 2017/2018.

With passive claims management by insurers becoming the norm, especially in
Victoria and NSW, employers need to exercise as much control over the
claims management and return to work process as possible.

First and foremost in this endeavour, is the effective engagement of injured workers and the treating practitioner.

At our upcoming workshop, Collective Safety have arranged for Aegis Risk Management Services to provide practical strategies to assist employers in effectively engaging both injured workers and their treaters in the return to work process.

Through an interactive workshop, attendees will gain an understanding of:

  • The impact of passive/reactive management on return to work outcomes
  • The importance of early return to work
  • Strategies to effectively engage injured workers
  • How to identify at risk claimants
  • Why treating practitioners don’t trust employers and their return to work coordinators
  • How to effectively engage with treating practitioners
  • How to dialogue with treating practitioners around ongoing incapacity
