Information Evening: Downwind Sailing in Heavy Air
Event description
In response to recommendations from the RSHYR Incident Report, the CYCA invites all sailors to a dedicated Information Evening on Downwind Sailing in Heavy Air.
Join seasoned offshore experts Jack Macartney, Michael Green and Adam Brown, as they share practical insights and lessons learned from real-life conditions.
The Panel:
Adam Brown: An offshore racing specialist, with three overall victories (1992, Ragamuffin, 2008 Quest and 2015 Balance). Brownie also raced in the notorious '98 Sydney Hobart on Sword on Orion.
Jack Macartney: Two times Rolex Sydney Hobart winner and round the world sailor, is a heavy weather helming specialist and was an instrumental part of the 2024 Rolex Sydney Hobart victory onboard Celestial V70.
Mike Green: Described as one of the "best offshore sailing masters" in Sydney. He is a three times Rolex Sydney Hobart winner, in 2002 and 2008 onboard Quest and then again in 2015 onboard Balance.
