Information session: new testing requirements for imported tomato and capsicum seeds

We are hosting two online information sessions to update you on the new import conditions for tomato and capsicum seed disease testing.  

Both sessions will cover:

a brief overview of the completion of the first phase of our review of Australia’s import conditions for tomato and capsicum seed disease testing
details of the 2 key changes that will strengthen seed testing requirements
what you need to do to comply.

Session 1: for Australian importers and brokers

Session 2: for offshore testing laboratories and government bodies (National Plant Protection Organisations)

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions during each session.

Who will be affected by the new measures?

The measures will affect importers of tomato and capsicum seeds, customs brokers, offshore and onshore laboratories, seed supply companies, National Plant Protection Organisations (NPPOs), government agencies, growers, industry groups and departmental staff.

When and where

The information sessions will be held at the following times:

Session 1: Australian importers and brokers

Session 2: Offshore testing laboratories and NPPOs

The sessions will be delivered as online videoconferences via Microsoft Teams Live Event.

If you plan to join using your phone, please make sure to download the Microsoft Teams app in advance.
The sessions will be recorded and made available for anyone unable to attend the live events.
