In this webinar, Dr. Samantha Hornery from Learning Links will show how free technology built into everyday devices like phones and tablets can make reading, writing, and communication easier for your child. Using simple tools like Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech, she’ll demonstrate how technology can remove barriers, build confidence, and open up new ways to learn 

In this session we’ll explore  
• How free built-in technology features on digital devices can support learning and participation at home  
• Ways to use these free tools to boost confidence and independence 
• Simple, practical tips to make technology work for your family 
 
More about the speaker 
Dr Samantha Hornery is a primary and special education teacher with over 20 years’ experience teaching and developing educational programs for children with learning differences. She is strongly committed to improving educational outcomes and ensuring every child has the chance to find success in life.
 

Who this event is for  

  • Parents and carers of children with disability, developmental delay, autism, rare genetic conditions, and medical needs. 

  • Professionals are also welcome to register to receive the recording 

What to expect 

  • This webinar is a welcoming space designed for parents and caregivers to listen, learn, and leave with practical tools and skills.  

  • Led by experienced peer facilitators who bring understanding and lived experience. 

  • The webinar will be recorded, giving you the flexibility to watch live or at your convenience. 

  • If you can’t attend live, a recording will be emailed to all registrants within 7 days of the event. This recording will be available for a limited time only, until 3 December 2025.
