InfraGhosts launches 'Body Heat'
Event description
A launch party for Body Heat — the debut album from InfraGhosts
InfraGhosts is the solo synthpop/multimedia project of Naarm/‘Melbourne’ queer and trans woman Laura Davis. After a decade as a stalwart of the local live music scene, Laura now shares the results of her committed studio practice in the ten-track album Body Heat. The infectious, danceable New Wave-influenced record is due out November 9th. Pre-order the album (including launch party ticket bundles!) on Bandcamp.Â
Joining InfraGhosts at the launch party are bratwave legends Hearts and Rockets, coldwave synthpop sweeties Time Rich + neon latex cowboy James Seedy. With projections by media artist Don Gray. Â
No one turned away for lack of funds. Email hello@authoritytoleave.com for free entry, no questions asked. Securely employed/waged/those with access to discretionary income are invited to make a 'pay it forward' donation to help us provide cheaper or free entry to anyone who needs it.Â

Wheelchair access
Cactus Room’s front entrance at 614 High Street has two small steps. There is ramp access via the back gate (access via alleyway at 2 Martin Street). This gate is usually closed, so if you need access just let staff know or text/call 0468 865 691 and we’ll be more than happy to open it up.Â
Inside the venue is all one level and flat, aside from a small door frame coming out of the bandroom to the back area. Unfortunately Cactus Room toilets don’t meet disabled access specs. There is a small step into the toilet area, toilet door frames are regular width and there are no grab rails.Â
