INHSU Hepatitis C Interventions in Prisons Symposium - New York City, United States
Event description
Join the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU) for this symposium focussing on the practical implementation of effective interventions to enhance hepatitis C testing and treatment in carceral settings and accelerate elimination in the United States.
Building on the success from the pilot delivery of 4 HCV Intervention Symposia in the US in 2023, INHSU will convene a Symposium in New York City focussed on specific interventions targeting hepatitis C care in carceral settings. This program is the first of its kind to provide participants with practical, detailed and accessible information on interventions demonstrated to scale up testing and treatment rates for hepatitis C with a focus on carceral settings.
After attending this event, you will be able to:
- Identify key features of successful models of prison and jail HCV care
- Describe how a range of interventions work and how they can be implemented in prisons to enhance HCV service delivery
- Outline how to develop a business case and get buy in for implementing or scaling up HCV testing and treatment services in prisons and jails
- Analyse barriers for implementing HCV testing and treatment services in prisons and jails and how to overcome themÂ
