About:

Through the practice of the 9 Lines of Movement the innate wisdom of body-mind balance emerges clearly. This bodily balance brings a sense of ease, openness and groundedness to the simplest activity.

This workshop is part of a series exploring the work of Mabel Elsworth Todd (The Thinking Body), through the eyes and practice of her students and successors, who developed her work in their own unique ways, whilst always maintaining its essence and principles.

Lulu Sweigard was strongly influenced by Todd and subsequently went on to research and practice the Todd Alignment principles and its method of imagined movement (Ideokinesis). The “9 Lines of Movement” are her distillation and development of Todd’s work.

In this workshop, Sweigard’s 9 Lines will be explored through imagined movement and through the fundamental activities of lying down, walking, sitting and standing. No prior experience is necessary.

Friday 30th October 2026, 2pm-5pm
Saturday 31st October 2026, 9.30am-4pm (incl. 1.5 hour lunch break)
Sunday 1st November 2026, 9.30am-1:30pm (incl. 45 min lunch break)
