We welcome each Woman, Sister, Crone, Mother and Maiden to come together in dance. We celebrate connection and community, we honour our ancestors and the ancestors of the land as we dance as our prayer. We are here for the love of dance and to honour the always opening and ever expanding journey of the self, embodiment becomes our authentic expression.

Inner Sanctuary Dance is an integrative practice that draws on ancient Vedic methodologies with integrity and reverence to these sciences, we draw on these Philosophies as inspiration as we integrate their teachings into our modern life. We allow them to guide us on the path of meeting the inner innate healer within and explore the wisdom of the Divine Feminine.

Together we create a safe container in which to honour our own personal process of growth and recognise the powerful transformation that can take place when we dance for ourselves, through our intentions and unique expression.
We meet each sister with honour for her journey and the intention for her to feel supported to celebrate expression, movement, self-exploration and the opportunity to let go of past emotional processes and grow.

We begin the evening sitting in meditation to meet and invoke the parts of us we wish to dance with. We then transition into a transformative movement and embodiment practice. As we dance we hold an open floor to the expressions of the self as we move together, in a space free of judgement and limitation.

There is no guideline or structure on how you chose to dance in this space, so no level of dance experience is required. The aim is to feel liberated as you move to the rhythm of your own body. We encourage you to become curious and explore the ways of which your body choses to express.
We intentionally close the space to support the integration of our journey together.

About the Facilitator: Carmela King

Dance and embodiment have been key practices on Carmelas own journey of healing, of feeling and moving through her own pain and trauma, as well as connecting to her joy and ecstatic expression.Her journey with facilitating began 8 years ago and has been deeply seated in her desire to be in service, to find purpose in her passions. With a deep reverence for ceremony and ritual, she wishes to hold a space for others to tap into the innate wisdom of their own body.

Carmela combines her decade of on going studies in the ancient Vedic wisdom sciences - Yoga, Ayurveda and traditional Tantra with her love and passion for embodiment, dance, women’s work and expression.
She is deeply humbled and honoured to hold this space for other woman and for herself, and wishes to do so with the utmost integrity and grace.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live, work and love: the Gumbaynggirr People. We pay our respects to their elders past present and emerging. We recognise that the struggle for lands and rights of Indigenous peoples around Australia is ongoing.
