The Nurtured Soul for a 2.5hr experience into the basics of Kundalini Yoga with a touch of plant life.
What is Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness. It is a dynamic, powerful tool that is designed to give you an experience of your soul.
In Kundalini Yoga we harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body and put them under the domain of the will, which is the instrument of the soul. This technology precisely and consciously combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purify the blood. It brings balance to the body, mind, and soul.
"In Kundalini Yoga the most important thing is your experience. It goes right to your heart. No words can replace your experience. Your mind may accept the words or it may not, but your consciousness will not accept just words."
-The Aquarian Teacher Training manual
When we apply the technology of Kundalini Yoga to our bodies and minds, it has the effect of uplifting the spirit. It is for everyone.
Kundalini Yoga is a yoga for householders, for people who have to cope with the daily challenges and stresses of holding jobs, raising families, and managing businesses. It is a path for everyone who wants the skills to cope successfully with the challenges of our times.
"The kundalini experience does not mean you have gone into a deep breathless trance and are beyond this world. … It integrates you more fully with reality and gives you a broader vision and sensitivity so that you can act more efficiently."
-Kundalini Yoga: The Flow of Eternal Power
Why am I adding Cactus you may ask?
Plants in general for me are grounding, nurturing and full of LIFE. The word “cactus” derives from Latin kaktos, meaning spiny plant whose identity is not certain. Relating this to the world of Kundalini we thrive and set our intention during practice to become our SAT NAM, meaning Truth is my Identity. So, with the little cactus not being sure of its identity and the practice of Kundalini awakening our true identity this spikey little companion ads to our practice as the polarities between the two go hand in hand. Let’s not forget to mention all those spikey spines. Kundalini Yoga works through our spine the energy of the Kundalini resides at our base and as we activate the energy through the practice is rises up the spine through our Chakra System activating the power of all systems to open us up to our full blooming potential.
For those who find themselves drawn to the cactus, you may subconsciously admire its ability to thrive in intense conditions that would render a plant of lesser strength lifeless. The spiritual meaning behind the cactus is symbolized in its hard-protective exterior, its endurance and strength to survive in new environments and situations. The cactus is adaptable and strong.
While it may not be recognized for its beauty, the real beauty and treasure of the cactus come from the inside, with its unique ability to store water. Keeping a cactus in your sacred space or at work will remind you to stay strong, endure and remember that the essence of both your truth and your beauty from within.
The powerful practice of Kundalini gives you the endurance and protective exterior whilst providing your strength to definitely move through any new life challenge or experience with ease and grace. You will become adaptable and strong. You will bloom from the inside out. The real beauty always lays within.
And have you ever seen a cactus flower oh my they are MAGICAL.
My intention for this workshop is for you to experience Kundalini Yoga to be open to the magic beyond the physical appearance of all things, and to gift yourself with a little piece of plant life that you get to plant with your own Intention and watch it bloom as you bloom. I invite you to come together for a time of self-love, connection, experience and a touch of nature.
There are no requirements come as you are in your true identity, bring a journal, pen, water, blanket and yoga mat and enjoy being in a moment in time. Your cactus, soil, pot, stones will be supplied and Turmeric tea will be available. Please bring a keep cup for yourself.

About Your Teacher. Melinda Lee
Having worked in the beauty, wellness, day spa industry for quite some time, Mel has always had a passion to guide others toward natural healing modalities and their own healing power. A firm believer in taking a holistic approach to health and wellness, becoming a Mother was a big catalyst for her to take the opportunity to explore and accelerate her personal growth. Mel’s continued daily inspiration is that of her 2 beautiful children.
2015 saw Mel commence her journey into meditation, and she soon found that it was causing great positive impact to every area of her life. What resonated with Mel the most was (is!) mantra meditation, which has led her to undertake meditation teacher training with Holistic Health College in 2018. The history, philosophy, techniques and practical skills learned
opened a path for her to dive deeper and incorporate Yoga into her life.
Feeling the pull to share in the teachings of Yoga teaching was something Mel couldn't deny, then Kundalini Yoga presented itself to her. Upon taking classes and delving into the rich history and potent practices, Mel decided that this was something she needed to do and soon took the leap into gaining Level 1 Aquarian Teacher™ certification with KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) via Kundalini Yoga Australia in May 2019.
“Kundalini Yoga is like true love you can only ever feel it to understand it.” ML
