Rick Hennig from the City of Mitcham will discuss how Council were able to transform two underutilised reserves into the thriving Pasadena Biodiversity Corridor, benefiting both the local community and wildlife. Learn about the innovative stormwater drain daylighting approach that connects these reserves and supports native vegetation growth, urban cooling, and a vibrant habitat for native animals.
Presentation 2: Smart Stormwater Systems - Harnessing AI for a Cooler, Flood-Resilient Future
A Prof Mark Thyer from the University of Adelaide will showcase their exciting research on smart design and smart control of stormwater systems that leverage machine learning/artificial intelligence to reduce flooding and multiple benefits, such as more water for urban cooling.
