You are invited to our final event for 2024 focusing on tongue-tie considerations in older patients (toddlers, children and adults), presented from the perspectives of a Chiropractor and an IBCLC (international Board-Certified Lactation consultant) with advanced training in Oral Myofunctional Therapy. 

Join us on Friday 4th October 2024, for an enriching Myofunction Mastery event featuring 2 wonderful guest speakers - Dr. Scott Wustenberg and Ms Jayne Vidler.  

Dr Scott Wustenberg will explore the following: 

  • Looking beyond the mouth to consider whole-body effects of oral restrictions 
  • Recognising that patients will compensate for tongue fascia and oral restriction in other parts of the body in varying ways 
  • Addressing compensatory patterns beyond the mouth. 
  • Primitive reflexes should be checked at all ages of patient – what to look for. 
  • How oral restrictions cause sleep and airway fragmentation that lead to cognitive and behavioural changes 

Ms Jayne Vidler will explore the following: 

  • Recognising the signs oral restriction in older babies and toddlers. 
  • Consideration of the timing of release in toddler patients 
  • Understanding treatment options and multidisciplinary care. 
  • Learn therapeutic approaches to improve oral function. 

About our speakers 

Dr. Scott Wustenberg - Chiropractor 

Dr. Wustenberg, the visionary behind Advance Rehab Clinics, is a distinguished Chiropractor specialising in nutrition, chiropractic neurology, and Sleep/Airway medicine. 

Practicing in New Zealand and Queensland, he holds degrees in Science, Chiropractic, a Master's in Nutrition Medicine, and post-graduate qualifications in Environmental Medicine. Dr. Wustenberg uses various chiropractic techniques and Orthomolecular Medicine for holistic care. Driven by his own children's health challenges, he has extensively researched sleep issues and airway fragmentation. 

He lectures internationally and is publishing the Continuum series on oral structures and health. He passionately coaches individuals on health optimisation through nutrition and lifestyle changes, embodying the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. 

 Ms Jayne Vidler – Registered Nurse and IBCLC 

Jayne is the founder, CEO, and Senior Practitioner at The Early Parenting Collective. With over 18 years of professional experience, she is highly qualified to support a wide range of early parenting challenges. 

Jayne holds certifications as an 

  • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) 
  • Registered Nurse (RN) 
  • Child and Family Health Nurse (CFHN - Grad Cert) 
  • Orofacial Myology Therapist 
  • Breastfeeding Without Birthing Educator 
  • Intuitive Intelligence Trainer and Teacher.  

Her extensive professional background, combined with the insights gained from raising her own three children, enables her to provide expert and empathetic guidance to families.

Venue: Entry to the Kennigo Social House – Spring Hill 

Parking: If you require parking on-site for a fee, please confirm this when making your booking. Free street parking is available after 5:00pm in front of the venue on Kennigo street, however this is not guaranteed. There are multiple other parking options along surrounding residential streets including Warry Street, Hills Street and Love Street.
