Speakers:
- Hoana Flay is a Minita-a-Iwi within the Methodist Church of New Zealand, particularly recognized for her contributions as part of Te Taha Māori, the Māori arm of the church. Her work is significant in bridging cultural and spiritual practices within the Methodist community. She plays a key role in promoting Māori perspectives and values in church activities and initiatives. She is currently the Tai Tokerau Liaision Person for Te Taha Māori. Hoana will be ordained at Hui Toopu (the Methodist Conference) in Wellington this November.
- Lydia Chai: A distinguished environmental advocate, Lydia has led initiatives to halt the export of plastic waste to developing countries, highlighting the environmental and public health impacts. Her advocacy underscores the importance of local action and global responsibility in tackling environmental challenges.
- Nicola Hoggard Creegan: A leading theologian and environmental advocate, Nicola specializes in the intersection of evolutionary theory and systematic theology. As the co-director of New Zealand Christians in Science and Chair of A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand, she bridges the gap between faith and environmental stewardship.
- Jenny Marshall: An expert in waste management and food waste reduction, Jenny has played a pivotal role in campaigns like "Love Food Hate Waste." She is currently the Waste Minimisation Lead for Foodstuffs NZ, working with supermarkets to reduce waste. Jenny will provide actionable tips and strategies to promote sustainable practices in our daily lives.
