Inspiring Women Impacting the World and Beyond – Women In Defence

It is with great pleasure that the Australia Day Council of South Australia launch the next iteration of our Inspiring Women Series, Inspiring Women Impacting the World and Beyond – Women In Defence.  

The event will feature two expert panels of distinguished industry speakers, facilitated by Julie Cooper FAICD, Non Executive Director, NOVA Systems. It will include a special message from Colonel (Ret'd) Pam Melroy (US Fighter Pilot, Astronaut, NASA leader).  The event aims to offer compelling narratives and meaningful dialogue, fostering a deeper understanding of the pivotal role women play in shaping the defence industry.

• Jessica Pisani, Executive Director, Strategic Engagement, Office for AUKUS, Department of the Premier and Cabinet.  

• Sumen Rai, Director, Defence Innovation Partnership

• Dr Sarah Cannard, Senior Systems Engineer - Nova, Industry Director at SmartSat CRC

• Dr Susan Neuhaus AM CSC, Non-Executive Director, Surgeon, Academic, Author

• Justine Greig, Deputy Secretary, Defence People Group (DoD) - Unfortunately, Justine is not longer able to attend due to work commitments.

• Libby Day, Chief Executive Officer, Defence Teaming Centre. - Unfortunately, Libby is no longer able to attend due to overseas work commitments.
