Hosted by QUT Design Lab: AI in the Creative Design Process

Presented by: Dr. Linus Tan

When: Thursday, 4th June 2025 at 1:00 pm-3:00 pm (including light refreshments)

Where: QUT KG, Z9-607

This hands-on session equips design academics with the practical skills to integrate generative AI into their research and teaching. Participants will learn to craft prompts and develop custom AI agents tailored for studio or research use. The workshop foregrounds creative experimentation, offering adaptable frameworks that support both exploratory making and critical reflection with AI.


About the speaker:

Dr Linus Tan is a researcher, educator, and architectural designer exploring how generative AI is transforming creative practice. Based at Swinburne University of Technology, his work explores how designers and teams think, adapt, and collaborate with AI tools across design research, architectural design, and speculative design. Linus run practical workshops that help academics, practitioners and organisations integrate AI meaningfully into their practice. His work has been featured at Melbourne Design Week, as a TEDx Talk and has been cited in Nature and Wikipedia. View more at www.linustan.com.
