Improve your understanding of the high importance of preventative healthcare and supported decision making for people with intellectual disability. Co-designed by people with intellectual disability and presented by the Connect-Able Project, the workshop is facilitated by South Australian Council on Intellectual Disability (SACID) and co-presented by a person with an intellectual disability.
Topics covered will include:
- Preventative healthcare for people with intellectual disability
- Person centred planning and health checks/assessments
- Rights, Duty of care vs Dignity of Risk
- Supported decision making – types, benefits and best practice
- Overcoming barriers to communication
Dinner provided
Attendees must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
