Event description

In this talk, Dr. Petra Kuppers uses an embodied lens to explore materiality, memory and environmental concerns grounded in the site(s) in which we meet.

Most traditional somatics teach us how to fine-tune our introspective senses and to open up the world to our own bodies, while eco soma methods that attention toward the creative possibilities of the reach of self, other and the land. Eco Soma proposes an art/life method of sensory tuning to the inside and the outside simultaneously, and methods that allows for a wider opening toward ethical cohabitation with human and more-than-human others. Using both video examples and participatory exercises, Peta leads an exploration of what it can mean for us to be witnesses of our own lives.
