Event description

Welcome to the edge of the galaxy.

On a space station pulsing with alien tech and faster-than-light travel (yes, ride shares included), one thing remains stubbornly complex: relationships. Whether human, hybrid, or something entirely unclassifiable, inter-being dynamics are still messy, political, and deeply personal.

In this genre-bending improv workshop, we’ll use the world of space opera to explore power, identity, and rebellion. Arrive with a character concept—an interstellar diplomat, rogue AI, or cosmic trickster—and together we’ll develop them through playful improv exercises. Then, we’ll throw our cast of galactic misfits into a shared universe where they’ll confront authority, spark revolutions, and build alternative futures through emergent storytelling.

Participants will be provided a worksheet for character creation ahead of the workshop.

This workshop forms part of the 2025 PITS Annual Improv Festival and all proceeds go to supporting the growth of improvised theatre in Perth.
