International Day of People with Disability lunch
Event description
Celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) with Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence's Modified Service Delivery Project by joining us at our collaborative lunch designed to spark new partnerships and strengthen bonds between the family and domestic violence (FDV) and disability services sectors. Held during 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, this event is about making services safer, more inclusive, and accessible for everyone.
Guided by this year’s IDPwD theme, "Confident, Capable and Creative: Come with Me," we are celebrating the strength of people with disability while championing the power of change through inclusive community actions by inviting advocates, practitioners and people with lived experience of disability. We hope members of our co-design group - people with disability who led the creation of project resources - can attend, as their contributions have been essential in shaping recommendations and ensuring our resources meet community needs.
Come hungry for both delicious food and powerful conversation! This lunch is an invitation to join forces, share insights, and drive real change toward safer, more inclusive communities. Let’s work together to create a future where accessibility, inclusion, and safety are universal.
