About the Conference

For the first time, international student representatives from across Australia will come together at a single national forum to connect, exchange, and speak with one voice.

The ISRC 2026 Conference is Australia's inaugural national, student-led gathering bringing together international student representatives from universities, VET providers, English language colleges, and other education institutions across the country.

Organised by the International Students Representative Council of Australia (ISRC) and co-hosted by the Sydney University Postgraduate Representative Association (SUPRA) and the Students' Representative Council, University of Sydney (SRC), this two-day conference is a space to lead, learn, and make an impact on the issues that matter most to international students nationwide.

What We'll Be Discussing

Four themes that go to the heart of the international student experience:

• Fair Access and Public Responsibility: Housing, transport, safety, and essential services for international students.

• Integrity, Transparency and Governance: Fee clarity, complaint pathways, education agent conduct, and student voice in decision-making.

• Student Experience and Wellbeing: Learning conditions, support services, belonging, and participation as core public values.

• Pathways, Contribution and Community Impact: Transitions to work, skills recognition, and international students' broader contribution to Australian communities.

Who Should Attend

This conference is made for you if you are an international student representative, including student association leaders, student union councillors, international student advisors, and student advocates, from any state or territory and any education sector in Australia.

Why This Matters

International students contribute enormously to Australia's education system and civic life. Yet until now, there has been no dedicated national forum where student representatives across sectors can come together to share experiences, align on priorities, and build a stronger collective voice.
