International Volunteer Day | Cooking for a Cause Sydney | Morning
Event description
This International Volunteer Day, we invite you to join us in the kitchen for a truly meaningful experience. Cooking for a Cause is more than just a cooking class - it’s a celebration of community, connection, and the power of food to make a difference.
Led by OzHarvest’s talented chefs, you’ll explore the art of zero-waste cooking, learning how to use every part of fresh, rescued produce - from root to stem to leaf. Throughout the session, our chefs will share practical techniques and thoughtful tips you can take home, helping you cook more sustainably in your own kitchen. Together, you’ll transform surplus ingredients into nourishing vegetarian meals that go directly to Australians experiencing food insecurity.
Whether you’re confident in the kitchen or just starting out, this hands-on experience will leave you feeling inspired, connected, and proud to be part of something bigger than a meal.
It’s a day to honour compassion, community spirit, and the simple joy of sharing food. No matter your skill level, you’ll walk away with new knowledge, new friendships, and the satisfaction of knowing your time has made a real impact.
Every ticket helps OzHarvest provide meals to people experiencing food insecurity, while also tackling food waste head-on. It’s more than a cooking class - it’s a chance to be part of something bigger.
