CHAMPIONING WOMEN OF COLOUR FOUNDERS

BREAK THE BIAS, AUSTRALIA

International Women’s Day 2022

FREE EVENT (IN-PERSON)

Did you know approximately 1 in 3 Women of Colour (WOC) don’t feel safe at work?*

Given the above, how is this psychological safety affecting the ability  to be our 'authentic selves' at work? What does mean for Women of Colour who decide to then venture out to build their own businesses and startups?

With low to non-existent representation across VC and angel funding, it’s time to break the biases in the Australian startup and funding culture.

But what is the pathway to supporting Australian Women of Colour in business?

At Women For Impact, we believe that it is important for us to collectively come together to work towards a sustainable solution and build a robust support system for all women.

To do this, we need to have radically honest and transparent conversations, on issues faced by all female intersections.

Join us for an evening of networking, libations and good conversations with an expert panel sharing their experiences, and join in on this very important discussion.

  • Despite there being some big success stories from startups led by Australian Women of Colour (Canva, AirWallex, Mr.Yum, etc), why are WOC overall missing out on funding?
  • What are some of the biases women have to tackle when it comes to business?
  • How do we change the mindset of the industry and what should we be doing differently?
  • What resources do WOC need to bridge the gap?

Stay tuned for more announcements on our stellar panellist line-up.

Get your tickets early! Limited capacity. Everyone is welcome.

Hosted by Women For Impact.

We acknowledge we are on stolen land and pay respects to our First Nations people past and present.
