International Women's Day 2024 Brunch - Empowering Changemakers, Women and Girls, through Storytelling, Innovation and Technology

Carrie’s Place are hosting an event for International Women’s Day on Wednesday 6th March at Maitland Town Hall. Our event “Empowering Changemakers, Women and Girls, through Storytelling, Innovation and Technology” has been created to inspire inclusion, bringing our extensive networks together, to connect different groups of women & girls; to support, educate and empower all women on important issues in the digital age. The event program has been crafted to raise awareness in the community on coercive control, through the powerful medium of storytelling, & learn more about innovation & technology to increase personal safety.

Event Program includes:

• Keynote speaker, award-winning author & DV advocate, Jas Rawlinson.
• Presentations from a client with lived experience & the Zahra Foundation, currently partnering with us to deliver ‘Pathway to Empowerment program’ for DV clients in our region.
• Industry expert in safety & IT, teaching us about tech safety & Maitland City Council Library hosting a Tech Bar.
• Book sales & signing with Jas Rawlinson.
• Each guest will receive a gift bag.
• Delicious brunch catered by Sprout Catering & entertained by local artist, John Milburn.

Guests will have various opportunities to donate to Carrie's Place on the day (cash and card), with all funds going to support critical services used to keep women & families housed, safe & to live free from abuse, in our Maitland region.
