In honour of International Women's day Red Tent Aotearoa is hosting a Picnic in the Park featuring an exploratory discussion group.

Theme: Women want to be heard!

Since the beginning of time women have been talked over, interrupted, mansplained, and taken off topic while trying to make a point, or share their opinion.

But you know what, women have got something to say so now it's time to stop and listen.

We invite you to come to a picnic in the park where women will be talking and men are invited to listen. Don’t worry Men, we do want to hear from you too, but this time the women will go first.

Women, what do you want men to know?

What is alive in your heart dear woman?

Let's talk about the relevant things in our lives.

Let's talk about how Red Tent highlights and can affect those relevant things.

Let's talk about what Red Tent means to women and invite our men to be part of the conversation.

We will also invite men to share what the Red Tent means to the women in their lives.

Unless they get butthurt and offended by women having an equal voice. In this case they can stay home.

What this day IS:

An opportunity to hear more about the Red Tent Aotearoa movement.
An opportunity to be heard, speak up, be seen!
A day to acknowledge and challenge outdated, old fashioned beliefs
A chance to share something we love with the ones we love.
A juicy discussion to raise awareness of women’s needs and disquiets.

What this day is NOT:

A male bashing session; we love our men and want to include them.
A chance for revenge or malice, we speak to be understood and listen with the same passion.
An airing of grievances, festivus was in Dec 😂

Jill will moderate and make sure everyone gets a chance to speak without being interrupted.

What to bring:

An open heart and an enquiring mind

A picnic lunch for you and your whānau

A blanket and/or chair

We will meet at 11am at the Findlay Picnic Area. From the main entrance, follow the path alongside the road, up past the Visitor Centre and the main car park until you reach Findlay's picnic area.

All are welcome, as long as you agree to be respectful and willing to listen!

What is the Red Tent and what do you do there?
The Red Tent movement is worldwide and stemmed from the book The Red Tent written by Anita Diamant.
Red Tents are spaces created by women, for women to come each month and share their stories, relax, feel nurtured, seen, and heard.
There is nothing required of you and the main goal is for you to relax, recharge and reset. Each month at Red Tent Aotearoa is different, we invite a different woman to share her story, experience and interest with us so that we all can learn and become more confident. Some of our themes in the past have been; The Power of Pleasure, The Power of Identity, The Power of the Spoken Word, The Power of Positive Touch, and The Power of Humility. Our belief is that 'Power-with' instead of 'Power-over' will change the world.

Who are the hosts and why do they do this?
~Jill Natalia is the founder of Red Tent Aotearoa and Red Tent Australia.
She is a Holistic Counsellor and Business Mentor with Conscious Consulting NZ. Born in Ōtautahi, Christchurch, she left when she was 18 and returned 28 years later in 2020. Jill is a community-focused change-maker with a devotion to non-profit organisations and a passion for non-violent communication.
She has dedicated the last 10 years of her life to starting, growing, and sharing Red Tent Australia and now Red Tent Aotearoa as an organisation that helps start and support the birthing of Red Tent circles all over the country. Jill believes in the power of Red Tent circles to heal the women of the world and in doing so the ripple effect will be felt across the globe.

~Suzanna is a former Certified Financial Planner and current Intuitive Financial Healer, Mentor and Trainer. Suzanna is the co-facilitator of Red Tent Aotearoa, Christchurch branch. Feeling chewed up and spat out by Financial Planning for “thinking too differently”, Suzanna embarked into self-employment with Her Money Her Purpose.

Having achieved the internationally recognised Certified Financial Planner certification, she went on to incorporate unexpected modalities such as Humanistic Neural Linguistic Psychology and Art of Feminine Presence into her repertoire to offer women truly unique solutions which take into account the whole woman – not just her money.

Suzanna’s passion is having deep conversations about money and purpose, she is gifted at holding space and loves exploring all that a woman was, is and can be. She supports women to connect with their power, their purpose, and their value so that they can feel safety and confidence with their money and with themselves.

She weaves together practical money strategies, with universal principals, and creates spaces for women to transform their relationship with money and confidently grow their wealth and impact.

What do I bring?
Please bring a snack to share, and a journal to capture aha moments and your water bottle. Some warm socks in winter and maybe even a blankie so you can be cozy. Bring an open heart and a longing for connection.

Do I need to print my ticket?
No, we will have a list of attendees and will have already made space for you in our hearts.

What type of women come to Red Tent?
Women from all age groups, all backgrounds, beliefs, and countries. Women who are ready for a shift, women who are tired of the status quo, women who want deeper connection to themselves and others.
