    Event description

Join us on Friday 8 March, 2024, from 1.30-3.30pm at the Vic Park Community Centre for a memorable celebration of International Women's Day, dedicated to honouring and empowering the incredible women who shape our world.

Surround yourself with great company at this informal community get-together where we’ll be introduced to the concept of Affidamento; a practice whereby one woman entrusts herself to another and an exchange occurs which uplifts and enables both.

Our afternoon will begin with a Welcome to Country and then we’ll hear about how this concept has emerged in the lives of Ingrid Cumming (Whadjuk woman of the Noongar Nation), Maryann Tsai (Reach Her Inc) and Karen Vernon (Town of Vic Park Mayor).

Following this, there will be time to chat and create something beautiful to share with a woman who you would like to recognise and celebrate.

    • Atmosphere will be welcoming, conversational and uplifting
    • Snacks and refreshments provided
    • Absolutely no prior knowledge or particular creative skill necessary (in fact, welcomed!)

Join the Town of Vic Park and the Vic Park Community Centre for an unforgettable celebration dedicated to honoring and empowering the incredible women who shape our world.
