Resource scarcity, environment impacts and economic concerns have become the key drivers for creating a Circular Economy (CE). CE is a major shift from a linear “take-make-use-dispose” business model to a circular one that is characterised by circular flows in the economy. It seeks to minimise resource inputs and emissions of organisations and their supply networks by slowing, narrowing, and closing resource loops while improving efficiency and reducing waste. Governments, all types of organisations and individuals from around the world have initiated major shifts towards achieving circularity. However, transitioning to a CE is difficult, even for the progressive companies.

The aim of this international workshop is to bring together leading researchers and research groups to share their current research and future plans for advancing both theoretical and practical knowledge relating to CE. Our aim is to form close alliances for future collaboration on joint research projects, industry engagement, grant funding applications and publications.

This event is being organised by a small group of universities and will be held at the Monash Prato Centre, located close to Florence – see www.monash.it

We aim to gather around 40 participants from around the world for presentations, panel/roundtable discussion sessions and possibly a local industry visit.
