Event description

Mark your calendars — InterPlay Melbourne will be back in June!

** Please note that we will be gathering at FITZROY NORTH LIBRARY.

Have you ever longed for a freer, more playful relationship with your voice? Wondered what it might feel like to sing, sound, and make noise without expectations or judgement?

Have you wished to bring more of yourself into the stories you tell — to give voice to the many parts of you wanting to be heard?

Is your body craving movement, ease, and connection? Do you find joy in authentic, heartful moments with others?

If any of that speaks to you… this is your invitation!

InterPlay is a playful, welcoming practice that invites us to explore creativity, connection, and self-expression through simple forms of movement, voice, storytelling, and stillness. Using incremental steps, it helps us become more at home in our own bodies while connecting with others in an open, supportive space.
Whether you’re a regular at our monthly workshops or thinking of trying InterPlay for the first time, you’re warmly welcome! And if a friend has been urging you to check it out… maybe this is your sign to finally give it a go! 😃

A couple of important notes for this month:

All proceeds from this June workshop will be donated to support people in Gaza — specifically to provide food, shelter, and water. If you’d like to contribute beyond your ticket, you’re welcome to add an extra donation via the Donation section under the "Get Tickets" button. I’ll be forwarding all contributions to the Supporting 7 Women (and their Families) in Gaza campaign — led by Banyule Palestine Action Group. You can read more about this campaign and the families it supports here.

This workshop itself won’t centre around this fundraising cause. While I deeply believe in the power of the arts to hold space for complex conversations, this gathering will follow our usual InterPlay format — a space for play, creativity, and connection. There won’t be discussions on the political situation during the session.

That said, I’m always open to exploring how we might hold those important conversations in a constructive and embodied way in other spaces down the track. If you have ideas, reflections, or would like to be part of that when the time comes, I’d love to hear from you.

A quick note: This will be our final in-person InterPlay session before I head overseas in early July. I’ll be away until October, when I’ll return to resume our monthly gatherings in Melbourne. In the meantime, I’m hoping to offer a few online InterPlay sessions while I’m away — so keep an eye out for those!

I look forward to gathering with you!

with excitement,

Pemra
