Guildhouse and Country Arts SA are hosting a community event at the Burra Town Hall to celebrate, gather and share collectively as part of the Intersection Regional Tour in the Clare Valley and Burra regions.
Intersection aims to strengthen professional arts practice with remote and regional creatives by celebrating the creativity in South Australia’s regions. This program is a foundation that grows and showcases regional creatives' valuable and dynamic experiences.
This relaxed Community Event is a way for artists, arts-lovers and members of the community based in the Clare Valley and Burra regions to come together, connect and network.
Come chat with the team from Guildhouse and Country Arts SA and celebrate the creativity of the region!
Providing space and a place for collective exchange; the event will feature an informal artist talk with local artists Meg Mader and Julie Lloyd, sharing their experiences of working as a regional artist.
Come listen, connect, and share with lived experiences, delicious light snacks and enjoying excellent company! A friendly event open to all people, practitioners and ages, we welcome you to join us.
If you haven’t connected with Guildhouse or Country Arts SA before, please join us, we look forward to connecting with you and learning about your practice.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Julie Lloyd paints in oils in a naturalistic, tonal style, combining figures, memories, and nostalgia with the geography around her to create a narrative within the work. She has exhibited widely in regional South Australia, and has been a winner and finalist in numerous art prizes and shows throughout the state.
Meg Mader, from Spring Gully, works predominantly with acrylic inks, gouache, and pen to create vibrant illustrations filled with symbolism, storytelling, and a touch of humour. Her work often features animals, still life, and pop culture mash-ups, reflecting a love of narrative and visual play.
