This presentation will explore the intersections between family law and migration law, with a focus on parenting matters. The presentation will highlight challenges and common misconceptions, topics will include the “best interests of the child” principle, the legal definition of “child,” the status of children born in Australia, and legal considerations for migrating to, remaining in, or relocating from Australia with a child.

The session is facilitated by solicitors from Women’s Legal Service Queensland’s Temporary Visa Program.
