Artist bios

Baran Yildiz is a Blue Mountains based multi-instrumentalist of Turkish origin. He is renowned as one of Australia's most talented handpan players. Baran's music combines melodies and rhythms of the Anatolia, Middle East and Africa with a modern touch on the hand pan, piano and various percussion instruments. Originally trained in classical piano and jazz drums, Baran has gradually become a contemporary world music composer and released two albums: ‘Interbeing’ (September 2019) and Bridging Worlds (October 2023), blending various modern world and neo-classical music elements to present enchanting instrumental soundscapes.

Anita Quayle is a contemporary cellist and composer with a flair for the unconventional. She began her training at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) to pursue artistic excellence. It's now been 25 years in the industry, and Anita has composed her own albums and performed live and collaborated with a vast array of musical icons and artists. Anita is an incredibly gifted musician who brings a deep spirit of collaboration and craft to her work.

Reza Kashi is a highly accomplished musician with over two decades of experience in playing traditional Middle Eastern instruments, including the setar, tar, and oud. Recognized for his exceptional skill and artistry, Reza has been awarded at both state and national levels in Iran, including achieving second place in the country’s most prestigious tar solo competition. Performing with DJ Hafner, Reza will be showcasing his extraordinary abilities with the tar and the oud, mesmerising the listener with his complex and beautiful melodic creations & improvisations.

Mike Hafner is a DJ with over two decades of experience with many different styles, and who aims to inject storytelling, meaning and emotion into all of his performances. As an established Ecstatic Dance DJ having just returned from a successful tour of Hawaii, his unique sound draws influence from all cultural & indigenous music from around the world, layering, blending and looping musical elements of all genres with percussive and rhythmic electronica. https://soundcloud.com/mikehafner
