Cost: $55 per person, limited to 15 places

About the workshop:

Learn the basics of crochet with the fabulous Alice Nightingale! Alice will introduce you to crochet, teaching how to hold your hook and do the basic stitches required to make granny squares. These can be joined together to create all sorts- blankets and garments (see Alice's website for some granny square cardigan inspo). Come and give it a go- you might just get hooked! This is also a great experience to give as a present to your loved ones or friends.

All materials will be provided, with plenty of colours to choose from, plus- you’ll take home your very own set of granny squares and crochet hooks so you can keep crafting away at home.

Included in workshop ticket:

  • All materials (yarn, crochet hook)
  • Your finished granny squares to keep
  • Light refreshments

What to bring:

  • A sketch or image for inspiration, if you like!
  • If you have a particular yarn you’d like to use, bring it along.

About the facilitator:

Alice Nightingale completed her diploma of fashion design and technology in 2009, with a goal to create quality clothing in small quantities. Feminine and quirky, her designs are inspired by vintage trends and local flora and fauna. Her focus on using secondhand, vintage and locally produced fabrics means her designs are not only hand made to outlast fast fashion cycles, but are also environmentally and socially sustainable.

Skill Level: This workshop is suitable for beginners.

Please be assured artisan has well considered COVID-safe protocols regarding our workshop programming. You will be offered socially distanced seating, access to your own PPE sanitation options at your workspace, and a large extremely well-ventilated workshop venue. Workshop Cancellation Policy:

Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.

Participant Cancellation Policy:

Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator. Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted. Bookings cancelled within a week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded.

Workshop Transfer Policy:

You may transfer your booking into an alternative workshop up to one week prior to the start of the workshop. Any difference in cost will be charged accordingly.If transferring toa. Different workshop, please edneavour to complete booking transfer a minimum of one week in advance. You are also welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement in writing to workshop@artisan.org.au.
