Event description

HARA was founded in response to the Northern NSW floods in 2022, our aim is to support those who have lost so much. Through providing access to mental health support such as Equine Therapy, we hope to support individuals impacted by this disaster as they walk their road to recovery.

Equine Assisted Therapy is an evidence based therapy model that combines the expertise of mental health professionals with one or more therapeutic horse. Through sharing this time with the horse and taking part in the activities of the day, you will be uniquely support to learn more about yourself and yourself in connection.

Our program, Intro to Equine, is a space for you to have a taster of what equine therapy has to offer. This program focuses on holding space for you as you combine different mindfulness tools with our horses. We aim to support you as you become more aware of yourself and what supports you to get through every day problems. We invite you, during this program, to step into a space of authenticity & connection with the aim to leave feeling calmer and more connected to yourself.

Our horses provide a space for you to align to your true nature and, through their non-judgemental and genuine nature, encourage you to brave this experience.

Each session offers a balance of horse handling skills such as; observing, catching and grooming, as well relaxation & mind focusing activities including; meditation, breathing & grounding techniques.
