Traditional gouache paint is a super opaque medium. It’s a wonderful cross between watercolours and acrylic paints and is fun (and forgiving) to work with!

In this class, we will explore the use of this interesting medium and create a beautiful floral image. Pick a fresh flower on your walk or from your garden (or use a reference photo) and together we will explore how to turn your flowers into a delightful painting.

Ideal for beginners who like a floral theme to start their creative journey with.

What will we cover?

Introduction and overview of the medium and it’s properties
Appropriate papers and brushes
Practising brush strokes and their effects
Creating your lovely floral painting

What will you need?

140lb/300gsm paper or stretched canvas (black or white)
Gouache paints – any brand
Brushes – ideally a variety eg: Round size 5, detail brush size 1, filbert brush, fan brush, angled brush
