INTRO TO INDUSTRY: THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSITY AND NETWORKING FROM UNIVERSITY TO INDUSTRY

Join us for Intro to Industry, an evening of presentations and networking for first year Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) students. Presentations will cover everything from how to find a job, UC support services and work experience requirements, right through to engineering industry insights, and the importance of networking. This will be followed by a unique opportunity to test out your networking skills with some friendly engineering professionals (with some free food in hand!)

What to Expect:

• How to find Work & UC Careers Support:
  Discover effective strategies for finding engineering jobs and internships and learn how UC Careers can support you throughout your job search and career development journey.
• Introduction to Engineering Work Experience Requirements:
  Learn about the Engineering work experience requirements in your course and how to make the most of these opportunities to boost your career prospects.
• Presentations from Industry Professionals:
  Understand the importance of diversity in the engineering field and how embracing diverse perspectives can enhance your professional journey.
• Networking Opportunities:
  Meet and network with industry professionals, knowledgeable UC staff, and fellow students. Start building connections that could be crucial for your career.
