Intro to Knits, Pt. 1: The Basic T-Shirt! Saturday, October 21st, 12-6pm • $35
In this class, students will get comfortable with knit fabrics by working with them hands-on to understand how they behave. This Saturday's class participants will learn to draft a basic t-shirt pattern based on their own measurements, and then use simple machine-sewing to sew a wearable shirt made from knit material. Join us this Saturday afternoon to develop new skills, meet other sewists, and take home a t-shirt made with your own two hands (and a machine)!
This project takes 6 hours to complete; there will be a 30-minute break at the three-hour mark to stretch, get a snack, and re-energize!
All tools and materials provided. Prerequisite: Sewing Basics I & II or equivalent knowledge/experience (e.g., familiarity with straight stitch and zig zag stitch, how to thread a machine's top thread and insert a bobbin, how to wind a bobbin, how to work through basic troubleshooting on jams, etc). Ages 18+.
