Join Teds Cameras and Nikon Australia in the perfect introduction to the art of Astro and nightscape photography.

Lead by Nikon School lecturer and award-winning Astro photographer, Steven Morris, learn how to get the most out of your camera and lens to capture the awe-inspiring details of the night sky.

This class is held at the Big Bend, which is part of the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve, one of only 15 in the world. Known for its dry climate, cloudlessness, and exceptionally dark skies, this is the perfect playground for all astrophotographers and stargazers.

Skill Level:

Beginner to Intermediate

  • Exposing for the stars and reading your histogram
  • Camera lenses and what to look out for
  • Manually focusing at night
  • The difference between normal and Astro-customised cameras
  • Reducing camera noise in nightscape photographs
  • How to shoot large panoramas
  • White Balance settings
  • Apps to help plan your shoots.

What to Bring:

  • Tripod required.
  • A Mirrorless or DSLR camera
  • Fully charged camera batteries
  • Memory card (s)
  • Wide-angled lenses
  • Head Torch
  • Warm clothing
  • Snacks (optional) and water
