This beginner-friendly workshop by Bower Bikes is designed to empower riders with essential bike maintenance skills. Over three hours, participants will learn how to perform basic safety checks, fix a flat tyre, adjust brakes, clean and lube a chain, and understand when to seek professional help. Held at The Bower’s Summer Hill workshop, this hands-on session blends practical learning with community connection.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this 3-hour workshop, participants will be able to:
Perform an ABC Quick Check (Air, Brakes, Chain)
Identify and fix common flat tyre issues
Use tyre sealant effectively (optional hands-on)
Adjust rim brakes for better stopping power
Clean and lubricate a bike chain
Recognize basic gear issues and know when to seek help
Build confidence in hands-on bike care through guided practice

Module 2: ABC Quick Check & Bike Anatomy (0:15–0:45)
Overview of key bike parts
ABC Quick Check:
A: Air – Pressure, tyres, valves
B: Brakes – Testing, wear
C: Chain & Cranks – Visual check, test spin
Hands-on: ABC check on own or provided bike
Module 3: Flat Fixing & Tyre Sealant (0:45–1:15)
Identifying flats & common causes
Demo: Removing wheel, tyre, and tube
Patching vs replacing tubes
Using tyre sealant:
What it is and how it works
When to use it (tubeless setups or pre-treated tubes)
Demonstration: Injecting sealant
Pros and cons
Hands-on: Guided flat fix and optional sealant use
Module 4: Break (1:15–1:25)
Water/snack/stretch
Module 5: Brake Adjustment Basics (1:25–1:55)
Focus on rim brakes; mention disc brakes
Cable tension, pad wear
Demo: Adjusting rim brakes
Hands-on: Brake check & adjustment
Module 6: Chain Care & Basic Gears (1:55–2:25)
Cleaning & lubing chain
Identifying gear issues
Demo: Basic derailleur positioning (if time allows)
Module 7: Open Q&A + Practice Time (2:25–2:55)
