Introduction to Children's Publishing

Event description:

Whether you’re trying to find  a publisher to bring your children’s  book  to life or would like to embark on a self-publishing journey, this workshop will equip you with behind-the-scenes knowledge  of the  publishing industry. We’ll cover everything from formatting your manuscript for submissions, leveraging social media to build your  author profile, how to get  your books into shops, and more.

(Note: this is not a writing workshop, but we will talk about things to avoid as an author.) 

About the Facilitator:

Sharon Baldwin is the founder of Loose Parts Press,  an  independent  children’s  publishing  company, and the author of thirteen books for children - with two more on the way this year. She runs  Good Earth Bookshop’s weekly children's story time, is a volunteer “role model” with Books in Homes, and has  taught numerous creative workshops over the years.
