The Goomalibee Landcare Group invites those interested in landscape restoration to a workshop on practical steps for planting and enhancing biodiversity.

Restoring your patch – be inspired, start small and build success.

The event is open to all – landowners who want to improve their property (large or small) and community projects.

• Walk and Talk – Learn what can be done

Learn about the Arboretum and its restoration journey from a storage depot to a 28ha diverse grassy woodlands and wetlands with flourishing wildlife.

• Interactive Discussion – Learn what can you do and how can you get there

General Principles

Working with what you’ve got. Where are you in the landscape? What are the features on your land? Protect the best first and create links. Available resources and vegetation lists provided.

Site Specific Planning (using individual aerial photos)

Attendees are encouraged to bring an aerial photo of their property to enable discussion on how to enhance plantings and biodiversity while retaining a farming enterprise. What are your aspirations? What steps are needed to get there? Where to start? What are the hurdles/blocks to making it happen?

Attendees will each receive a plant to take home to commence their own restoration journey.

Presenter: Cath Olive

Cath has worked in environmental education and landscape restoration in the Goulburn Broken catchment for the past 28 years. She is passionate about plants, people and wildlife – working to balance the needs of community and farmers with positive environmental outcomes. She is inspired by biodiverse landscape restoration and working alongside Traditional Owners in managing country.
