Introduction to Networking September 2026
Description
Your networks and connections can help you advance through your career.
You already have a vast network filled with friends, family, classmates and lecturers, however building a pool of professional contacts brings immense value. By connecting with other professionals, you gain industry knowledge and enhance your visibility, leading to potential job opportunities, collaborations and learning opportunities. Networking also fosters confidence and communication skills, crucial for navigating the job market.
This event is for recent graduates of Edinburgh Napier University. It is organised by ENU’s Alumni Team in collaboration with the Employability & Careers Team and aims to dispel any fears you may have about attending a networking event.

After a short welcome and more guidance about networking, attendees will then undertake speed networking! This is a great way to meet everyone in the room and practise your elevator pitch. We are also delighted to be joined by alumnus Andrew McCall who will share how networking has benefited his career.
After this, pizza and refreshments will be served and attendees able to put what they learnt to the test over informal networking.
By the end of the event you will have developed new skills and made new contacts - if you have business cards bring them along, or be ready to connect on LinkedIn!
