Where did Nia come from? What are the 52 moves of Nia?

This special Introduction to Nia workshop will be held on 25 May, 2025 at Avalon Surf Life Saving Club, in the beautiful 'Ocean Room'.

Nia is a ‘dance-fitness’ program that combines uplifting music with simple choreography, removing the impact so the movements are forgiving on the body. It provides a gentle cardiovascular workout, improves balance and flexibility and is great for your brain!

But its secret ingredient is joy. It just feels good to dance!

This two hour workshop is ideal for beginners but also for regulars who would like to deepen their understanding of the 52 moves that make up our classes, with a focus on correct form.

We'll break down the movements that form the base of our Nia dance fitness classes.

If you're already a regular student, you'll become stronger and more confident in your movements.
